That is a hard question to answer. Does he show you love and respect, does he want what is best for you and accept you as you are? Does he try to get you to do things that you are not happy with, disrespect your family or upbringing? Does he put pressure on you to be a different person or not spend time with your friends.  Remember words are cheap and buying you gifts is easy.
