My Faith

Faith and Relationships: Most major world religions think along similar lines when it comes to issues around relationships and sex. This section of FRYP looks at the similarities and differences in those beliefs, exploring religion and relationships. It is worth remembering that even within one religion there may be a range of different views on each subject.

We have attempted to represent the 'main stream' view in each religion. By knowing what various religions believe, it is hoped that there will be greater understanding between people of different faiths and none.

Muti Faith Hands

Most people have an idea of what their religion says about sex and relationships. This section is only a guide. It is always worth talking to family or your faith leader if there is anything you aren't sure about.

Some of the content of this section has been adapted from the publication Faith, Values and Sex and Relationships Education (2002) by Simon Blake and Zarine Katrak, which is available for purchase here.

They cover the widest held beliefs of each religion and are an overview of specific topics. The topics covered are Gender Roles, Growing Up, Marriage, Sex, Masturbation, Contraception, Termination of Pregnancy, Divorce, and Homosexuality.
